Visit to the Dr.

Just took a visit to the Dr.’s office for poison ivy, and got really annoyed. One thing that just really annoys me is waiting in the Doctor’s office. First you wait in the waiting room, where you know you’re going to wait, thus the name. Then your name is called and you are excited because you get to advance to the next stage. You’re blood pressure, temperature, and weight are taken, for poison ivy, REALLY? Then the nurse takes you to a small room, where she asks you to climb on a bed made for “little people”. Once she leaves you are now waiting on the actual Doctor. I always feel like I can’t move because any subtle movement on the paper covering the bed sounds like your unwrapping Christmas presents. So I try to lie down. Who could honestly sleep on a bed that only covers from your head to your mid thigh. As I lay down I hear the door rattle to open. I pop up as if I were going to get in trouble for lying down. Since I’ve been lying there, I have managed to cutoff the circulation of my legs from my knees down since they’ve been hanging over the edge of this half-bed. In trying to get up I feel like lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump using all of my arm strength to sit myself up on the bed, all the while sounding like I’m unwrapping Christmas presents, embarrassing. Its miserable going to the Dr. for something you have already diagnosed yourself with and already know which medicine you need to receive. I feel like its just a punishment you have to go through. Sometimes I feel like I’m on one of those candid camera shows while waiting in the small room… who knows… maybe I am…
